Governor Cuomo has signed into law legislation that affects the usage of handheld electronic device while driving.
The new law will put 3 points on your license and a find up to $150 if you are caught driving while on your cell phone, texting, emailing, transmitting images, or playing games. Additionally the new law makes cell phone usage while driving a "primary traffic offense"; meaning you can be pulled over for cell phone usage alone. Before you had to be stopped for another violation.
The new tougher law will affect many Long Island drivers and their Auto Insurance rates.
Don't let your auto insurance premium be increased due to cell phone violations.
Be smart, Be Safe, and use hands free devices.
Together we can help keep Long Island drivers safe!
